That imposter – Julie’s new “Run-around”

Julie and I have had an interesting Australia day this year. We spent most of the day at our local Harvey Norman purchasing a few things. We then headed up to a place called Oak Flats, which is about 20 minutes south of Wollongong.

The reason why is because Benny has become a wagonist. He made purchase on a mint Kouki RS4 Stagea tonight, which means we took delivery of a cobweb infested, Mitsubishi CE lancer. It was Benny’s old run-around but he decided that shit should get real. Wise choice sir!

While Julie didn’t really think of making a car purchase, it all snowballed. At first we were joking about buying it but we then decided to take it for a drive last week, and the rest is history.

It’s funny though, Julie hated the CE lancer with a passion, probably because almost every one you see in Western Sydney has either chrome “altezza” style tail-lights, or a hectic EVO body kit with shitty wheels. I must admit I wasn’t much a fan of them either because of this. But after driving one we’ve become open-minded about them.

Julie’s Lancer comes equipped with a tow-bar! Should whack a trailer on that and see what happens. I’ve never seen a CE with a tow-bar before, wierd.

Our plans for this little beast are some slammage and low offset wheels, it’ll be refreshing to see a CE lancer with some stance I think.

It’ll be wierd not seeing a range of Nissan’s parked out the front of our house now.

Nah, it’s a 1.8L. I like it, it reminds me of my MX-5.
